Luxor

🏛️ Luxor Governorate
Luxor Governorate is located in Upper Egypt and is one of the world’s greatest open-air museums. Its capital, the city of Luxor, stands on the east bank of the Nile and is home to the magnificent Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple complex. On the west bank lies the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, where many of Egypt’s pharaohs were buried, including Tutankhamun.
Luxor is often called “the world’s greatest open-air museum” because it contains a vast number of ancient monuments, temples, and tombs dating back thousands of years. The governorate has a population of around 1.3 million people and is a major hub for cultural tourism, attracting millions of visitors every year.
