You are picked up from your hotel or another location of your choice in Hurghada in the early morning and transferred to the airport for a flight to Cairo. In Cairo, you are met at the airport by a private expert tour guide. Your first stop is the Pyramids of Giza, the only remaining one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Visit the Great Pyramid of King Cheops, the biggest pyramid in Egypt. It is 147 meters high and consists of about 2.6-million blocks of stone weighing between 2.5 and 15 tonnes each. See the second pyramid of King Chephren and the third pyramid of King Mycerinus. See the smaller pyramids of the queens and enter one of them. Visit the valley temple, which was used for the mummification process, and see the Great Sphinx, the largest statue in the world. Your next stop is the Step Pyramid at Sakkara, considered to be the first pyramid built in Egypt. It was built around 2360 BC by King Zoser and is 62 meters high. Explore the tombs of the nobles with colourful decorations which remain preserved until today. Lunch at a good local restaurant is included and you will spend the night at a five-star hotel in Cairo. DAY 2: After breakfast at your hotel, visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, where more than 250 000 artifacts dating back to ancient Egypt are displayed. See the royal mummies and discover the treasures of King Tutankhamun, including his solid gold mask and gold coffin. Continue exploring Cairo with your guide as you visit the Citadel of Salah al-Din, an amazing fortress which was built around 1176 AD to protect the old city of Cairo, and the alabaster mosque of Muhammad Ali with its walls and pillars of alabaster marble. Enjoy lunch in an elite restaurant and then explore Coptic Cairo, including the Hanging Church and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. You will have some free time at the old market Khan el-Khalili for shopping before being transported to the Cairo airport for your flight back to Hurghada, where you will be transferred to your hotel.
